PEC Zwolle has a tough task ahead. After a season in which the club barely managed to stay up, technical director Gerry Hamstra must assemble a selection that is more stable than the group from last season.

What happened?

The last home game in Zwolle already had the character of a farewell tour. Jamiro Monteiro, Kaj de Rooij, Zico Buurmeester, Shola Shoretire, Tristan Gooijer and Anselmo Garcia Mac Nulty were called forward.

Who is leaving?

In addition to these names, Samir Lagsir, Christian Bos and Rodney Kroeze are also leaving. David Voute also seems to be on his way out.

What's next?

PEC Zwolle has already taken important steps in the past few weeks by definitively signing loan players Tom de Graaff, Tijs Velthuis and Thijs Oosting. Givaro Rahajaän and Ryan Thomas also extended their contracts.

How will PEC Zwolle proceed?

Trainer Henry van der Vegt looks beyond just position profiles when it comes to new players. PEC had too much trouble winning games and fell behind in several matches. Van der Vegt wants players with personality, players who don't disappear when the pressure increases.
