PEC Zwolle has appointed Gerry Hamstra as its new technical director. The Groninger was trainer of FC Emmen from 2006 to 2008 and later worked at Achilles 1894. Hamstra was most recently employed by Ajax as technical manager and signed for two years at the MAC3PARK stadium. General director Xander Czaikowski of PEC Zwolle is enthusiastic about Hamstra's appointment. With Gerry, we add an enormous amount of experience to our organization in one go, he says. Due to his past with clubs like sc Heerenveen, FC Emmen, Vitesse, and Ajax, he has built an enormous network and that comes in handy in his new role. Hamstra himself is also happy with his new job. I'm really looking forward to getting started at PEC Zwolle, says Hamstra. The fact that this club is very much alive was once again evident last Sunday at the farewell of club icon Bram van Polen. The club has managed to maintain itself in a beautiful way under Johnny Jansen last season. Mark Coonen was the final responsible person since the departure of Marcel Boudesteyn. He left the club last September. Hamstra starts his job in Zwolle immediately.
